The new S1 has been designed for both professional and semi-professional use.
The S1 is affordable, lightweight and visually stunning. It feels and plays like a
traditional violin, using a regular bridge and fittings. All types of violin strings can
be used and any reputable repair shop can adjust and maintain the instrument.
The unique pickup system has been designed by Skyinbow
violins in conjuction with Fishman Transducers. This is an Active Acoustic Modular Pick-up
which senses vibrations being passed through the structure. There is no need for impedance
buffer pre-amps and the system is totally screened from outside electro-magnetic
radiation.
The S1 is handmade from fine tonewoods - maple neck, maple/spruce body.
This unique construction acheives a warm natural resonance whilst still maintaining almost
no microphonic body noise/feedback or wolf notes, even when being used in very difficult,
high volume situations when only back line amplification is available. The S1 will perform
equally well in conjunction with effects, and with the careful use of compression, the
instrument can be overdriven through to distortion for any budding, heavy metal violinist
who dares!
